Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) has launched a talent hunt to unearth the next big football star in the UAE.
According to Al Bayan newspaper, the new programme, called ‘The Victorious’, will be a kind of football academy giving footballers a chance to showcase themselves in a competitive environment.
The programme will be broadcast on Dubai TV and Dubai Sports under the supervision of football legend and Ambassador of Dubai Sports Council, Diego Maradona.
Michel Salgado, for Spanish and Real Madrid star, will also be involved in the project.
According to Ali Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Director of Dubai TV, "The Victorious will be DMI’s big surprise of DMI to the Arab World at the beginning of the new year of 2014.”
The statements of Al Rumaithi came in a press conference held yesterday morning at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Palm Island in Dubai.
Sami Al Qemzi, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of DMI and a number of officials attended the conference along with Diego Maradona and Michel Salgado.
Al Rumaithi stressed that the new programme shows the keenness of DMI to give real opportunity for Arabic talent to emerge and to be outstanding on the world arena.
He expressed his thanks to Al Qemzi for his unlimited support and enthusiasm for the idea of providing this programme to the Arab public.
