Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic, who was bitten by Luis Suarez during the World Cup last year, is in the eye of storm yet again. But this time around, he seems to have taken a bite of his own.

In a video that has gone viral, the Chelsea defender appears biting Everton's James McCarthy’s shoulder  during the Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Ivanovic first grabbed McCarthy around the throat, nearly throttling him, before he appears to aim a head-butt at the Everton midfielder.

Sources close to McCarthy later said that he did feel teeth on his shoulder, though he did not believe it to be a bite, repored ‘DailyMail’.

Other players were also quoted as saying that they did see “Ivanovic press his head press his head into McCarthy and appear to catch his teeth on his shoulder”.

However, Chelsea sources insisted that Ivanovic denied biting McCarthy, the report added.

The defender could face a ‘retrospective three-match ban’ over the incident.
