Dubai: If you have received a parking fine in Dubai, but believe you followed all the parking rules, there is an easy way to submit a fine dispute application through Parkin, the largest paid parkin operator in the emirate.
Parkin allows customers to dispute a fine they believe was unfairly imposed, and also receive a refund, if the customer already paid for it.
Here is all you need to know.
How to dispute a paid parking fine
- Go to www.parkin.ae and log in to your account, using either your Parkin or RTA account, or your UAE PASS.
- Click on ‘Individual’ services and then select ‘pay fines’.
- To view the fines issued on your vehicle, use either your car registration number, your driving licence number, your traffic file number or the fine number, if you have received an SMS notifying you of the fine. If the car you were driving is not registered under your name, you would need to select the fine number option.
- Click on ‘next’.
- The system will then show you all the parking fines issued.
- Select the fine you wish to dispute and then click on ‘dispute fine’.
- You will then be asked to submit any supporting documents to dispute the fine that was issued, including screenshots of any SMS payment you sent, or photos of the parking ticket, for example.
- Click on ‘submit’.
- You will then receive a reference number for your fine dispute application. According to Parkin, the application will be reviewed within 14 working days, and if the application is approved, the fine will be cleared from your file.
- In case you have already paid for a fine that you are disputing, you will also have the option to request for a refund of the payment.
What if my application gets rejected?
According to Parkin, you can also call the Parkin call centre on 800 72 75, if your fine dispute application is rejected, but you have documents to prove that the fine was unfairly imposed. The agent at the call centre will help you file a follow-up complaint.
