Dubai Courts Implement New Mechanism to Facilitate Travel for Custodians and Their Wards

Dubai Courts have introduced a new travel mechanism within the Personal Status Enforcement Department, designed to streamline the process for custodians and their wards to obtain travel permits for leaving the country.

Salem Mohammed Al Mesfari, Head of the Personal Status Enforcement Department at Dubai Courts, stated: "This initiative underscores Dubai Courts' commitment to flexibility and prompt response to clients' needs. Previously, custodians had to obtain a judge's decision allowing travel, followed by the approval of a guarantor. A special message was then sent to the Department of Criminal Investigation to temporarily lift the travel ban. However, this process often faced delays in message transmission, hindering clients at border crossings."

The new mechanism permanently lifts the travel ban once the guarantor is approved, facilitating smoother entry and exit from the country. This improvement has accelerated the process of lifting travel bans in the system immediately upon the judge's signature, enhancing client satisfaction and confidence in the judicial system.

Al Mesfari added that the new mechanism aligns with government directives aimed at improving services and saving time and effort for clients.
