His journey with books culminated in an inspiring success when he was crowned champion of the tenth edition of the Arab Reading Challenge for People of Determination.

His achievement shows how determination can help overcome challenges and how books can open doors to fulfilling dreams, regardless of the difficulties a person may face.

Mahmoud expressed his happiness at winning the title, saying the achievement marked the culmination of a long journey of reading and hard work. Standing among the winners in Dubai filled him with pride after his dream became a reality.

He said: “I read 75 books, and it was my mother, my teacher, and everyone who stood by me in my journey with reading and the Arab Reading Challenge, and I would not have reached this moment without their continuous encouragement and support.”

The joy of being crowned

Reflecting on his victory, Mahmoud expressed pride in his achievement, explaining that the Arab Reading Challenge title represents more than a prize. For him, it is a message to all children of determination that reading and knowledge can give people the strength and confidence to pursue their ambitions.

He said participating in the challenge gave him the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities and stand alongside children from different countries, united by their love of books and the Arabic language. He added that the most beautiful aspect of the experience was its celebration of intellect, determination and ambition.

Humanitarian messages

Mahmoud expressed his appreciation for the Arab Reading Challenge, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative has opened participation to millions of children and given people of determination an opportunity to showcase their talents and abilities in reading and knowledge.

Mahmoud’s victory embodies the humanitarian and educational messages of the Arab Reading Challenge. The initiative not only encourages children to read, but also gives them an opportunity to build self-confidence, develop their abilities and demonstrate that excellence is not determined by circumstances or challenges.

Support behind his success

Recalling the beginning of his journey with books, Mahmoud said his mother and teacher were his biggest supporters. Their continued encouragement helped him persevere with his reading until he had completed 75 books.

The Syrian student’s achievement carries a message of hope for people of determination and their families, highlighting how family and educational support can help discover talent and foster achievement. A journey towards success may begin with a book and encouragement from a mother or teacher, but it can ultimately lead to the podium.
