The shocking film – believe to have originated from India – shows the unidentified man calmly reaching for the unit as the rickety steps wobble wildly.

It's a situation that would normally warrant scaffolding. And, as the camera pans around, it becomes clear the ordinary-looking ladder is fastened to the roof by just a single rope.
