New travel requirements for the United States have come into effect, requiring all passengers travelling to the country, including those transiting through US airports, to complete and sign a declaration form before completing their travel procedures, unless they hold an official exemption.

According to an update published by Emirates on its website on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the new requirements apply to all passengers departing for the United States from 11:59pm Eastern Time on November 3, 2026.

The airline explained that the new form includes a declaration by the passenger confirming that they have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo during the 21 days before boarding their flight. All information provided must be accurate and complete. Each passenger must complete and sign a separate declaration form, although an authorised representative may do so on their behalf in permitted cases.

Paper copy

Emirates stressed the need for passengers to print the form from the official US government website, complete it and present a hard copy at check-in to verify compliance with the new requirements.

For passengers with connecting flights, the form may be checked at the boarding gate.

The airline urged passengers to complete the necessary procedures before travelling to the airport to ensure compliance with US travel requirements and avoid potential delays during check-in or boarding.
