Fujairah City Centre, which has been developed by Majid Al Futtaim, will create more than 1,200 jobs in the emirate when it opens next month, said a senior official.
Majid Al Fahim, Senior Mall Manager for Fujairah City Centre, told Emirates 24l7 that the group’s sixth project “will create over 1,200 permanent job opportunities once open, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the surrounding community. The mall will boost the economic landscape of the emirate through job creation and by attracting retail, development and tourism opportunities into Fujairah.”
The first integrated retail, leisure and entertainment shopping mall in Fujairah is set to open on April 4.
The shopping mall is being developed in joint-partnership with the government-owned Fujairah Investment Establishment. With the aim to have 100 per cent of its stores trading on opening day, each one of the mall's 105 units have been handed over and retailer fit-out is well underway including anchor tenants Centrepoint, Paris Gallery, Max Fashion and Carrefour.
The group has completed hiring for the mall and the team is undergoing training phase, Al Fahim added.
“In terms of dedicated mall staff, Fujairah City Centre Customer Service staff – which have all been hired from the local Fujairah community, and the Mall Management team have been fully hired and are currently undergoing training at Majid Al Futtaim Properties corporate office in Dubai. Third party service providers including facilities management, security and cleaning have also been contracted, and their respective teams are undergoing similar preparations in time for opening day,” Al Fahim said.
However, talented individuals are always welcome to apply to join the Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Fujairah City Centre team, he added.
Majid Al Futtaim Properties has employed the Fujairah City Centre Mall Management Team which includes senior management, marketing, operations, retail and tenant relations and security, and the mall customer service team.
