Devi Jewels mulls manufacturing facility in Dubai

Dubai-based Devi Jewels has forayed into retail and also intends to set up manufacturing facility in the emirate, said a company executive.

Nirav Sanghvi, Founder and Director of Devi Jewels, aims to expand company on retail, trading and manufacturing fronts.

Sanghvi was speaking on Sunday at the launch of company’s first outlet set up in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

“This is my first venture and if I get right locations and opportunity, I would love to grow more in Dubai and Abu Dhabi but now everything is getting very saturated in terms of retailing so waiting for the right location and product lines as well,” he added.

Devi Jewels founder said he’s not looking for a mall because that kills the essence of what he’s trying to do, unless there is a specific area of the mall.

“For example, Mall of Emirates would be great to be. There are some malls in Abu Dhabi as well. I can’t name them as they’re still at the development stage. Dubai itself has so many opportunities coming up, so many new retail spaces, new malls. I’m going to wait and watch. If something is fitting the concept I’ll move on,” he added.

Commenting on manufacturing facility, Sanghvi said: “I would like to think of manufacturing in two-year time (either) in Dubai or Bangkok. It’s good to have own line to create your own identity because at the end of the day besides selling jewellery you have collections which people would like to be associated with. We’re building to that level. It’ll be both diamond and jewellery facility – inspired jewellery,” Sanghvi told Emirates 24l7.

Established in 2008, Devi Jewels offers exquisite designer collections by renowned designers from around the world to the UAE. Its first retail venture was DIFC outlet opened on Sunday, March 16. The launch also saw opening of a fine jewellery exhibition by India’s largest and oldest jewellers, Jewels Emporium, being held at Devi Jewels.
