Dream destination: Abu Dhabi is KLM Dreamliner's first stop

KLM’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday (November 23) after its inaugural flight from Amsterdam.

The latest member of the Boeing 787 club, KLM took delivery of is first Dreamliner on November 13, 2015. Abu Dhabi is the first KLM route to be served by the new aircraft.

The new, state-of-the-art airliner will operate between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport with seven direct flights per week, connecting its 294 passengers into KLM’s global network of destinations.

The KLM daily flight arrives in Abu Dhabi from Amsterdam, before continuing on to Manama, Bahrain, connecting the two Gulf capitals and linking them both into the KLM global network via Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

KLM says its Boeing Dreamliner offers a new level of comfort in air travel and a new in-flight experience.
In business class, passengers enjoy 2.07 metre long full flat seats, full privacy and direct access to the aisle. The airline says its guests in economy class will appreciate the new seats, which offer 40 per cent more recline. Passengers will also have access to a power socket for recharging mobile devices, larger cabin windows, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system and onboard Wi-Fi, it said in a statement.

“We are delighted to introduce the KLM Dreamliner to the Abu Dhabi and Bahrain routes and we are very confident that our valuable customers here will appreciate this new level of experience, on key routes for the airline,” said Gilles Roche, General Manager for Air France KLM Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Pakistan.
