Etihad Airways is looking for staff at various levels across departments. Recent postings show that qualified personnel are needed in technical, guest service, supply chain management, revenue management, project management, flight operations and training among many others areas.

Most roles to be filled in are within the UAE but some vacancies are also open in Australia and Saudi Arabia.

The salaries and perks vary greatly with the role but the airline says it offers great personal benefits and a great employment package.

For its Abu Dhabi based staff, the airline pays a tax-free pay, accommodation (depending on grade/role), education allowance (depending on grade/role), health insurance, end-of-service benefits, reduced airline fares and Etihad Holidays packages, discounts on goods and services, including hotels and restaurants and special facilities such as gyms and medical care.

The recruitment process at the airline begins with the application. “Every part of your application form must be completed before submission. One of our recruitment specialists will assess your application against the minimum qualifications required and, if you meet them, you will be invited for telephone interview and/or assessment day,” says the website.

“An assessment day helps to determine suitability for a role and whether they have the skills to meet the required competencies of a job. Before the session ends, you will have the chance to ask questions. The assessment day may consist of various exercises.”

The shortlisted candidates are invited for competency interviews, you can be asked to make a presentation, indulge in role play, be part of a group exercise, undergo an English test (which depends on the position), sit for a computer test and will be asked job related questions – all part of the assessment exercise.

If you clear all the stages you will be offered the job. But note, even if you are successful in being offered a role with Etihad Airways, you will need various documents to obtain the necessary pre-joining clearances.

You will need a scanned passport size photograph; a copy of valid passport; if you are currently under family sponsorship, a NOC letter is needed; copies of confirmation of employment letters as per your submitted CV covering at least the last 10 years specifying  your job title, the start and end dates.

In addition, a letter of employment from the current employer is needed; copy of your highest educational certificate, which should be attested by the Ministry of Education or any other authorized government agencies (Notary Public etc.) in the country of issue. Once this is done, it has to be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by UAE Embassy in that country. UAE residents also need a police clearance certificate.

Etihad Airways is growing fast and invites candidates to be a part of their exciting and inspiring journey.

“We are the fastest growing airline in history and now fly to almost 70 destinations in 47 countries. Our ambition is to be the best in the world, enjoy sustained profitability and support the growth of Abu Dhabi. Although only eight years old Etihad has already won numerous awards, including being named the World’s Leading Airline, Best Long Haul Airline and Best Airline to Asia Pacific,” elaborates the website.
