Six Construct marks 50 years in Gulf

Six Construct, an affiliate of Belgium’s largest construction group Besix, this week marked 50 years of its operations in the Gulf and said it expected another successful half a century in the oil-rich region.

Belgium’s Princess Astrid and the country’s deputy premier and minister of foreign affairs Didier Reynders were present at the function at St Regis Hotel in Abu Dhabi along with Saeed bin Ahmed Al Otaiba, partner of Six Construct Co Ltd, Abu Dhabi.

“We are blessed to have a strong association with Mr Al Otaiba, who helped Six Construct establish itself by building its very first project in 1965 - the Abu Dhabi Corniche,” said Pierre Sironval, Managing Director of Six Construct in the Gulf Region.

“We are proud to be part of the UAE’s history, and are ready to build for the future. Fifty years of success and fifty years more to come,” he said.

Company executives who spoke during the ceremony highlighted its key projects in the oil-rich Gulf since 1965, including the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Yas Mall and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Aspire and Tornado Towers in Qatar the Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain, and King Abdulla Sports City in Saudi Arabia.
