India’s fifth largest private sector bank Yes Bank has launched its first international representative office in Abu Dhabi.

The bank is looking to expand in key international financial markets to tap the large sections of non-resident Indian (NRI) population, it said in a statement.

“The GCC region is an important geography for our NRI business and our Gulf foray will play a key role in our aspiration to become ‘the Savings Bank of India’,” said Rana Kapoor, Managing Director and CEO of Yes Bank.

Located at Hamdan Street in Abu Dhabi, the office will provide services for unique investment needs of the Indian diaspora in the Gulf city through its Global Indian Banking programme.

The representative office was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Social Development, UAE, and TP Seetharam, Ambassador of India to the UAE along with Rana Kapoor.
