Inaugural women lifestyle consumer exhibition the Modern Woman Show will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre from December 17 to 19 with focus on luxury products and targeted at the high-end consumers.
Apart from the business-to-consumer exhibition, the three-day event will feature fashion shows and seminars also.
The entry will be free for the event, which will be open to visitors from 11am to 9pm every day, with over 40 exhibitors taking part in the inaugural show.
Sajid Ali Aga, Director at Sumansa Exhibitions, organisers of Modern Woman Show, said nearly 60 per cent of the exhibitors are from the UAE while the rest of 40 per cent foreign brands.
Exhibitors include Boadicea the Victorious Luxury Perfumes, Lootah Perfumes, Studio 8, Das Collection, 1001 Abayas, House of Fatam, Abeer Al Yaseen Beauty Spa, Shay Goldsmith, Clio Pro Jewellery, Concept Store, Distinctive, Apple Wang and Myazaa among others.
“We were very selective in choosing the brands. In fact we rejected few as well because we wanted to bring in those brands who don’t have strong presence here. In fact, some of the brands don’t have presence in local malls,” he added.
The UAE residents’ spending on beauty products is approximately Dh1 billion. Statistics reveal that the overall spending on the beauty and personal care products in UAE is expected to reach Dh4.77 billion by 2017.
“Fast on its way to be crowned as the fashion capital of the world, Dubai boasts of a multi-billion-dollar fashion industry defined by international high-end brands complementing the traditional Arabic flavor. The emirate houses the largest number of consumers of clothing, makeup, fragrances, hair-care and other wellness products in the Middle East and was last year ranked the 2nd-most important destination for international retailers after London. Considering all this, we feel an exhibition like this is the need of the hour, this will be an annual event and like all our other events we plan to re-invent and amuse with each edition,” Sajid said.
