Italy’s new electrical superbike

Italy’s new electric superbike is all set to rock the biking world and motorcycle enthusiasts.

The machine is a trimmed down version of the Energica Ego, which was announced last year and considered as the only electrical superbike matching up to racing standards.

Energica Ego is powered by a 136 HP motor that can take you to speeds of upto 218 kmph. Priced around $25,000 to $30,000, the bike is scheduled to hit the market in 2015. The bike’s battery can be fully charged in 3.5 hours and can travel up to 150km.

The Eva was unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Italy on November 5.

CRP, the company behind the Energica models, is more known among the racing fraternity producing high-end automotive engineering. CRP has been supplying components to Formula 1. In fact, its idea is to make Energica the Ferrari for the biking fraternity. To what extent it would succeed will be based on how fast it can bring down the pricing, to make the machine more affordable and increase the battery life.

OnBeep the wearable walkie-talkie that will stick to your shirt

It is being termed as the Star Trek-styled device. The round device just clips onto whatever you wear and by a simple push of a button can broadcast your message and help a group of people communicate with each other with ease.

The device was announced on Wednesday (November 5) and is priced at $99 for a unit and can be pre-ordered.

Onyx lets users connect with each other without having to look down at their phone and weighs just 46 grams.

Onyx connects to the OnBeep app on a user’s smartphone via Bluetooth, delivering instant communication over wireless and cellular networks across any distance. The app lets users create and manage groups on the fly, and team members can share their location on a map, making it easy to keep track of each other in real-time. Onyx works with both iOS and Android smartphones. The initial idea for such a device came up during emergency relief work.

A hardware startup called OnBeep is doing its best Star Trek imitation with Onyx, a clip-on communicator that works over any distance.

BeOn -  the smarter among the smart lights

If bulbs could deter burglars and prevent your house from being stolen, then this device promises to do exactly that. Launched on Kickstarter, the BeOn Burglar Deterrent system is a set of bulbs that goes a step ahead from merely connecting to your wifi and being accessible through a smartphone app.

It understands your daily lighting pattern and imitates it even when you are away from home, creating an impression of a lived-in home while you are away.

It even understands when someone rings a doorbell and in case a would-be burglar checks if a home is occupied by ringing the doorbell it will listen for your doorbell and will turn the lights on in sequence to simulate your active presence.

The system even works during a power outage – considered the most suitable time for burglars.

The system uses built-in rechargeable batteries and can provide days of backup lighting.

It even listens to smoke alarm. In case of an incident at night, they will turn on at full brightness instantly to help the occupants get out safely.

Each bulb provides 800 lumens of white LED light output and includes Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, microphone, processor and rechargeable battery.

The modules learn and communicate with each other, relaying information about heard events such as doorbells, available battery capacity, lighting status and schedules. The project is currently featured on Kickstarter.

Jawbone Up3

They are calling themselves the world’s most advanced tracker. The jawbone UP 3 is one of the two products the company has just released and promises to take on the tracking system to a whole new level.

IT also released a more budget friendly Jawbone UP Move, with a slightly trimmed down features.

UP3 by Jawbone features a patented multi-sensor platform that collects and analyzes a wide range of biometric signals, delivering actionable insights specific to the user

It incorporates a multi-sensor platform includes a new tri-axis accelerometer, advanced bioimpedance sensors, and skin and ambient temperature sensors.

Using this technology, UP3 delivers resting heart rate – defined as a user’s heart rate upon waking up, before other influences such as movement, exercise, or caffeine set in - a key indicator of one’s overall heart health and the company promises that it would capture even more health data through future firmware updates.

The devoice also tracks detailed sleep stages including REM, Light and Deep sleep, and even suggests tips to improve the sleep pattern.

New smart algorithms allows the device to automatically identify workouts and classify a user`s activities, including running, cross-training, tennis, and many more.

It even has a smart coach feature where it connects with the UP App that gives a user personalized guidance. The device is priced at $180.

Parrot Zik - the king of noise cancelling

Headphones are often measured for its ability to cancel alien noise and provide crystal clear audio and Parrot’s Zik promises just that.

To put it in simple terms, the Zik 2.0 has eight microphones of which six are dedicated only for noise cancelling and it does it upto 30 decibels.

You also have several modes to choose from. A flight mode will activate the ANC and line-inand will enable the user to reach up to 18 hours of listening.

An Eco mode will give you concert hall effect with  batteries lasting up to seven hours, while a regular mode will give you six hours of listening.
