GM, Chevrolet recall some 2014 models in UAE for fuel gauge problem

US automakers General Motors and Chevrolet have recalled Acadia and Traverse vehicles in the UAE due to fuel gauge problems.

The recall has been announced by the automakers in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy’s Department of Consumer Protection.

The companies said in a statement that these vehicles have “inconsistent fuel gauge calibration settings readings at both the high and low end of the gauge which may result in stalling while driving. Dealers will programme the engine control module free of charge to correct the fuel gauge reading issues.”

If need be, the companies said they will complete the necessary repairs to ensure customers’ peace of mind. Automakers will contact the buyers soon to arrange a time for the repair work.

Both the recalled models of GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse are 2014 models.
