Holiday on Thursday: UAE stock markets to be closed

The Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has announced that Thursday, December 24, 2015, will be an official holiday for the financial markets to mark the Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) birthday.

The break is in accordance with a circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

Trading will resume on Sunday, 27th of December, the SCA said in a statement.

The SCA congratulated the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, on the occasion.
