Samsung revamps Galaxy Note 3

It is official. Samsung has sent out invitations for an official event on June 20 to be held in London where the new Galaxy Note 3 is rumoured to be be unveiled.

The invitation simply says, “Samsung Tomorrow would like to invite you to the Samsung Premiere 2013 GALAXY & ATIV, to be held at Earls Court 2 in London. Attendees will be among the first to see the new additions to the GALAXY and ATIV lines!”

A careful look at the invitation, however, reveals what we have been expecting Samsung to do with the Note 3 – a major redesign.

What is visible is a neat aluminium bezel. What is hidden however and could be revealed on June 20 is if Samsung has replaced the plastic back cover with the fully aluminium one for the new Note 3.

Emirates 24|7 had earlier reported that Samsung was keen to get a design similar to that of the HTC One.

Samsung introduced its Galaxy S4 with a metallic binding but continued to persist with a plastic back cover.

The Note 3 will probably have a 6” Full HD AMOLED display, a significant increase compared to the 5.5” of Note 2. The Note 3 will also come with the powerful Exynos 5 Octa processor, and a 13 megapixel camera and Android 5.0.

It is also being reported that the 13Mp camera will have a much better performance compared to the Galaxy S4 due to the introduction of optical image stabilization.

Samsung hopes that Note 3 with its power packed features and a design similar to that of HTC One will take the sheen out of its new rival.

HTC in fact has been struggling to keep up with the increased demand for its new model. It was earlier announced that HTC managed to sell more than 5 million units of HTC One within a month after it hit the stores.

In comparison, Samsung claims to have sold more than 10 million of its hot new Galaxy S4 smartphones, but is still planning on going after the HTC One with its revamped, all-metal avatar of the Galaxy Note 3.
