Counsellor Ali Mohammed Abdullah Al Balushi, Acting Attorney-General of Abu Dhabi Emirate, has issued a decision banning the media coverage over the death of an Asian small girl in school bus, until the prosecution completes the investigation.

The ban also extends to the social networking. Defendants and plaintiffs or neutral persons are also prevented from commenting on the case so that they do not affect the investigation process in any way.

A source in the office of Attorney General expressed profound sorrow on the demise of the child, stressing that the public prosecution is still investigating into the case so as to establish justice.

The source noted that over the last two days the media published false reports about the incident, causing unjustified confusion, adding that the public prosecution respects freedom of press and right of community to know the facts about the incident, but at the same time emphasises the importance of news accuracy and taking into account procedures that do not affect the legal proceedings of the case or harm the security of society.

The violation of the above decision is punishable under the Article 264, paragraph 1, of the federal law.
