3 Emirati youths held for 15 burglaries in RAK

Ras Al Khaimah Police has arrested three Emirati youths for burgling 15 shops in the emirate.

Colonel Abdullah Menkhs, director of criminal investigation, said the youths aged between 17and 20 were held within 24 hours of receiving reports of theft from several shops.

Col. Abdullah said investigation showed that the group followed the same method to burgle shops. They broke the facades before breaking the doors opens with a sharp tool.
After monitoring markets and shops, police arrested the three in a car at night. They confessed to stealing money and valuables from 15 shops. Some stolen goods were found in the car and some in the houses of the arrested youths.

Colonel Abdullah urged shopkeepers not to leave money in their shops overnight.

Meanwhile, RAK Police is distributing brochures to raise awareness of shopkeepers about security measures to be taken to avoid theft.
