7 Chinese held on robbery charges

Seven Chinese men are on trial in Abu Dhabi’s western region on charges of robbing women of the same nationality, the press reported on Tuesday.

Police had arrested the seven following reports by some women that the defendants had stormed into their houses, stole their money and manhandled them.

The court in Dhafra was also told that the robbers had locked the victims up after stealing money and other items from their houses.

Charges against the seven also included resisting arrest by the police, the papers said, adding that the seven would be sentenced on October 27.
