A nine-year-old British boy drowned while swimming with his family at a Sharjah beach on Wednesday, press reports said on Thursday.
Rescuers plucked the kid out and tried to save his life but he died on the spot after drowning in Mamzar area in the afternoon.
Police are probing the incident while the body was sent to the morgue at Kuwait Hospital in the emirate, the Arabic language daily Alittihad reported.
