The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police have arrested two men of Bangladeshi nationality in two separate cases, on charges of running a gambling and betting rackets in Sharjah.
The police received information that a gambling den was being run near Al Wahda Street in Sharjah and after making sure that the information was good, the conducted a raid.
The police arrested a Bangladeshi named as QAP who admitted to running the den.
In a separate case a police patrol in Sharjah arrested a man identified as MCP, also from Bangladesh.
The patrol detained him at first on account of his suspicious behaviour, but when the man resisted arrest, they brought him in for questioning and he admitted to gambling activities.
The Sharjah Police have called on the public to report any crimes or offences that threaten the security of society.
