Car battery stealers get 6 months in jail

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced two Pakistanis to six months in jail each for stealing car batteries.

The court also ordered MS, 25, truck driver, and TA, 23, jobless to be deported after serving their jail terms.

According to the records, on January 6, MR, 36, who was accompanied by his friend, saw two people standing next to his vehicle. They lifted the vehicle’s battery, carried it to a Mazda car and left the place.

“We rushed to my other vehicle and chased them until we caught them. We brought them back to Al Muhaisna area where my vehicle was parked and called the police,” MR told investigators.
His friend MM, 44, repeated corroborative testimony.

Police arrested MS and TA who admitted to the crime.
