A Bangladeshi cleaner claimed that he found forged currency notes of $3,000 in a trash bin of the company where he worked, took them to his country and brought them back into the UAE, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
In March, AH, 22, arrived in Dubai Airport’s Terminal No.3 and was arrested as he possessed $3,000 in $100 notes in his luggage.
AH admitted that the notes are forged. He claimed that he had found them in a trash container in the company where he worked. He told investigators that from the appearance of the notes, he knew that they were forged.
AH took the currency notes to Bangladesh but brought them back to the UAE as he did not use them there.
Criminal Evidences reported that the notes were forged so well that an ordinary person could be deceived.
The Court will give its verdict on June 17.
