A Sri Lankan cook allegedly first raped the receptionist in his office and then claimed that she is accusing him to take revenge after he discovered her betrayal of her boyfriend.

WS, 23, defended himself saying that he knew she was betraying his boyfriend.

“That is why she is accusing me of raping her,” he defended.

On May 4 at around 9pm, the victim TB, 23, Belarussian receptionist, was in her boyfriend’s room when the accused WS knocked at the door.

“I opened the door and saw WS at the door. As I was about to close the door after telling him that my boyfriend is not in the room, he pushed me into the room, locked the door and pulled out the key. He then threatened me with a knife to offer him sex or he will kill me. I begged him to take my money and gold but he refused. I tried to run away but he pulled me back from my hair and raped me,” she told investigators.

In an attempt to run away, the victim told him that her boyfriend’s roommate may come any time and since the key is not in the door lock, he can open the door because he also has a door key.

She told investigators that when the accused went to insert key in the door lock, a telephone rang and she told that security staff is calling to check who is making noise. Instead of going to pick the phone she grabbed the opportunity and ran out of the room.

TB rushed to the reception and told security staff about the incident.

The accused came to the security staff and claimed that she is making false allegations. The security staff called the police and arrested the cook who was drunk.

The victim told police that she was using the internet in her Sri Lankan’s friend room when the accused came to the room and raped her under knife threat.

Police took the DNA of both the accused and the victim. Forensic reported that the victim sustained some scratches and bruises on her body.

The court will reconvene on October 27.
