A 26-year-old Emirati policeman allegedly molested a 14-year-old British student near Deira City Centre, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Sunday.

First Corporal ASO is accused of stopping the victim SAM, after he left an internet coffee and claimed he was a CID and 'presented' his card asking for a personal search.

He took the boy to the washroom and asked him to take off his dress. Once the teenager removed his clothes as instructed, the accused touched him inappropriately. Then they both left the toilet. Later, the cop again told the boy that he needed to check him, but the teenager refused this time.

He then allegedly pulled the boy to the toilet and molested him.

The policeman is also accused of illegally posing as CID.

The victim testified that on September 5, he along with two other friends went to Jim Network and Café near City Centre in Diera at about 5pm to pay. At around 9.15 they left to have dinner. "Our frined Abdul Rahman, left before us… As we followed him we saw him talking to the accused who was wearing a kandoora and a black cap. He showed us his card and told that he wanted to search us for drugs. He asked my two friends to stay and asked me to follow him… I thought that I'm been taken to a police squad in the building, but instead he walked to the toilet and there he searched me and asked me to take off my clothes.

"As he started touching me inappropriately, I shouted at him, grabbed my clothes and rushed out even as he was trying to pacify me. My friends were still outside… When he followed me and said I had to be checked again I told him to search me in front of my friends and not in the toilet. But he forced me to go with him again and he repeated his act. I shouted, pushed him back, grabbed my dress and ran out.

"He tried saying that my parents would not be informed and that he would not cause any more problems. I called my father who asked me to notify the police office in Deira City Centre,” he testified.

LKF, Filipina worker at the café testified that the victim and his friends were regular customers at the cafe. And the accused is their client since three years. LKF said he saw the accused at the shop at around 8pm but did not know when he left as he did not pay for playing.

Her co-worker JRM, 36, repeated the same testimony.

Abdul Rahman H, 15, Egyptian testified, that he told the accused that they were going to have dinner. "He asked me to stay aside and then talked to the victim about smoking in the café. Then they both disappeared. I called my friend on his mobile but he did not reply. A little later they both returned. The accused asked to search my friend again. But we asked him to do so in public, which he refused and said that he should take him, and he did. Then my friend came running frightened and told us what the policeman did to him."
