Dubai Police arrest killer within 24 hours

Dubai Police have arrested the killer of an Asian national within 24 hours when the culprit was about to leave the country after committing the crime.

The killer dumped the victim’s body on the road in Al Quoz Industrial Area and fled to Abu Dhabi to fly out to his home country, Arabic daily Al Khaleej reported on Wednesday.

Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al-Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said the culprit was a compatriot and friend of the victim.

The killer murdered his compatriot in the victim’s car due to sexual harassment on more than one occasion. On the day of crime, the victim sexually abused him again but the culprit resisted and stabbed him several times, killing him on the spot. The accused then dumped dead body on the roadside and fled to Abu Dhabi in the victim’s car to fly out to his home country on the same day.

“Dubai Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, in coordination with the competent authorities in Abu Dhabi Police, arrested the killer within few hours,” said Major-General Al Mansouri, praising the teamwork and quick response by the country’s law enforcement authorities to arrest the culprit in a short time.

The Arabic daily didn’t repot when the incident happened.
