Evicted tenant attacks friend of landlord

A Vietnamese was sentenced to one year in jail for attempting to kill a student who accompanied his friend to a flat that proved to be a prostitution den.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also ordered FF, 26, to pay Dh10,000 fine and to be deported after serving his jail term.
 
According to the records, the 19-year-old victim MS, 19, Syrian went to a flat of his friend MD who wanted to hand a notice of eviction to the tenant of the flat.
 
MD and his friend MS, the victim, went to the flat in International City in the car of a third friend ND. MD asked his friend ND to stop in front of a building.
 
“As MD was getting out of the car, I asked him if he needed a companion. I got off the car as said yes. MD knocked on the  door of a flat and a Chinese man opened the door and asked us to get in.
 
“As we sat in the living room, four girls appeared and offered themselves to us, asking us to choose from them. They were talking in English that we did not understand. MD called his father and told him that the flat is being used as a prostitution den.

“He also called the police. Later, he called our friend ND who was waiting down the building, asking him to come up and talk to them. When ND went up, he saw a group of men holding swords in their hands outside the flat, trying to get in and assault us,” said the victim who sustained head injuries and fell unconscious.
 
MH, 26, Pakistani engineer, who lives in the opposite flat, told investigators that he opened the door to see what was going on as he heard a woman’s screams.
 
“I opened my flat’s door and closed it when I did not see any one in the corridor. However, after a few minutes, I heard crashes and shouts coming from the flat opposite to mine. I opened the door again and I saw a man holding a sword in his hand,” he said.
 
The men attacked the visitors and by the time police arrived at the scene they had all run away. Police arrested, FF 26, welder, and accused him of premeditated murder attempt with fugitives.
 
The victim MS was rushed to the hospital for treatment of head and arm wounds.
