Farmer rapes maid in employer's house

A Pakistani farmer allegedly broke into a maid’s room and raped her at their employer’s house, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Monday.

JB, 30, Bangladeshi maid, said she was surprised to see the farmer, HA, in her room on January 31, at around 4pm, when there was no one at home.

“He hugged me forcibly, gagged my mouth as I tried to shout for help; then he raped me,” said the maid.

As soon as her employer returned home, she informed her about the incident.

The employer MM, 31, Emirati housewife, accompanied the maid to report crime to the police.

The employer testified that the maid told different stories about how the farmer attacked her.

“Once she said that she was in the kitchen where the farmer attacked her and then dragged her to the bedroom. Then she said that she went into her room and she was surprised to see him already present in her room,” testified the employer before the court.

There was no CCTV cameras in the house.

Police arrested HA, 31, who started working at the employer’s house only 20 days before the crime.

The farmer denied the accusation and claimed that the maid made allegations against him as she did not want to stay in the house.

“I never touched her and came closer to her. She wants to leave her employer, so she made up this story,” the farmer told investigators.

Forensic report confirmed that the maid was raped by the accused.

The court will reconvene on June 16.
