Filipina in jail drinks disinfectant in suicide bid

A Filipina prisoner in Kuwait tried to end her life by drinking a large amount of washing liquid but she was saved by doctors, a newspaper said on Thursday.

Inmates at the women’s prison in Kuwait City found the Filipina lying unconscious on the floor and informed prison guards, Al Watan said.

“She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but doctors managed to save her life…doctors said her condition is gradually stabilizing,” the paper said, adding that police are investigating her motives for attempting a suicide.
