Five-year-old knocked over by dad saved

Doctors in Dubai saved a five-year-old boy who suffered from a ruptured kidney and other serious body injuries after he was accidentally knocked over by his father while reversing his car, press reports said on Sunday.

Omran was admitted to Rashid Hospital a few days ago suffering from serious hemorrhage and hospital imaging showed his kidney was squashed, prompting doctors to operate on him immediately, 'Emarat Al Youm' said.

“The child was then moved to the intensive care unit where he stayed for four days…his kidney started to heal after the surgery and he recovered quickly given his little age,” it said, quoting chief surgeon, Dr Faisal Al Badri.

He said Omran was then moved out of the intensive care unit and had treatment before he was discharged on Friday.

The paper said Omran’s father, who was not identified, did not notice his son when he moved back his car near their house in Dubai.
