Four Asians are accused of using forged credit cards and an ID for purchasing gold worth Dh75,000 from a jewellery shop, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Police was tipped off  that MA, 33-year-old Pakistani accountant, possessed forged credit cards and is looking for a jewellery shop that would cooperate with him in using the forged cards to buy gold against Dh1,000 per used card for the salesman who would agree.

Police coordinated with the informer and a jewellery shop in Lulu Centre in Al Qusais to help arrest the suspect.

MA came to the jewellery shop along with other three others: HB, 28, salesman, AT, 26, businessman, both Indians, and MF, 32, Pakistani visitor.

After ensuring that the salesman is ready to cooperate with them, the accused brought a credit card and a free zone ID card from his companion who was waiting outside. At that moment, police raided the place and arrested the four accused.

Police confiscated from the accused a number of credit cards in different names issued by different banks in addition to the ID and photocopy of American passports that were all proved to be forged.

During investigations each of the accused blamed the other for supplying him with the forged documents. The supplier was proved to be HB, Indian salesman.

The Court will reconvene on November 20.
