An Indian sales representative allegedly forged a house lease registration certificate to obtain residence visas for his wife and two children, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On March 19, BF, 37 applied to the Dubai Residency and Foreign Affairs Department (DNRD) for his family.

“The application was enclosed with a copy of an ejari lease registration certificate.

"The document was proved forged after checking with an employee of the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera) of the Land Department. Asking him about the original of the document, the applicant said he does not have it,” the DNRD employee told investigators.

Rera reported that the lease registration certificate was forged. The accused denied knowing that the lease registration certificate was forged. However, he admitted to using the document.

The court adjourned the case until July 15.
