Friend 'pays back' Dh10,000 debt with part of his intestine

A drunk machine operator allegedly attempted to kill his roommate after a row over a loan of Dh10,000, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On September 15, 2012, the accused SBB, 24, grabbed a knife in the room and stabbed the victim in his abdomen, causing part of his intestines to hang out of his belly.

The victim was rushed to hospital where a part of his intestines had to be removed.

The accused claimed that he had a fight with the victim who fell on a table on which a knife was kept.

However, forensic reported that the victim’s wound could not have been sustained from a fall on a knife on the table.

Medical reported that the stab caused five per cent permanent disability to the victim.

Later the accused admitted before investigators that he attacked the victim after a financial dispute between them.

The court will reconvene on April 14.
