An ex-husband allegedly transferred a car belonging to his divorced wife who gave him the car to pay fines for traffic rule violations, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

MSO, 40, lieutenant, is accused by the prosecution of forging a car ownership transfer application and using it to steal a car owned by his ex-wife.

The victim, IIM, 37, housewife, testified that she gave her car to her ex-husband to pay traffic fines because he is a police officer. “After he failed to return the car, I called his brother and enquired about it. The brother told me that MSO transferred the car to his name. I checked with RTA and found out that he had forged my signature on the transfer form,” she testified.

Criminal Evidences reported that it is more likely that the signature on the form is forged.
