Maid falsely accuses employer of rape

A Bangladeshi housemaid accused her ill Gulf employer in Sharjah of raping her but a court acquitted the man after a medical report showed no signs of rape.

The 60-year-old man, who is suffering from diabetes and hypertension, had been on trial in the northern emirate on charges that he had sexually assaulted his maid at his house, the Arabic language daily Al Khaleej said.

But a medical report presented to the court showed no sexual assault took place against the maid following examination of her at the hospital.

“The defence lawyer told court that it was clear the maid made false accusations for some reason although the defendant is unable to carry out a rape because of his illness…the court then decided to acquit the defendant,” it said.
