A 31-year-old Emirati, TMA, allegedly posed as a CID, kidnapped a Filipina and sexually abused her in his car, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Chief Prosecutor Yousuf Mohammed Fulath asked the court to give the stiffest penalty for the accused.

The victim, AFB, 29, clerk, testified that on January 27 while she was in the corridor of the ninth floor of her building, the accused passed by her and gave her his mobile and asked her to make a missed call to his number. “He then showed me a CID card and he was wearing military uniform. He asked me to come with him in his car to the police station. He asked me to sit in the front. One our way he entered parking lots of residential buildings and asked me very private questions including whether I am a virgin and whether I am a homosexual. I asked him why he is driving through parking lots of buildings and not to a police station. He told me that if he took me to a police station, I will be deported and he will cause me lots of problems.

“He then entered a dark parking lot of a building where he told me that he will take me to a hospital to check me if I am virgin and said if I was not then I will be deported. I got scared of him and cried and begged him to leave me. He then asked me to allow him to check me without going to the hospital and asked me to jump to the back seat. He asked me to undress, then he undressed himself and had sex with me,” she testified.

The victim’s friend called her and so he dropped me back at the building where he was a new tenant. “He asked me not to tell anyone about what happened and asked me to call him if I face any problem. I was in a shocked state for two days. After persistent queries by a friend, I I told her what happened and then we went together to the police station,” she testified.

FMM, 29, Filipina, secretary, testified that the accused had stopped her friend who was accompanied by MA, 30, Filipino.

“He stopped them and asked for the labour card. He took the victim’s labour card and told her that since she was not wearing a decent dress, he will take her to the police station. I begged him to forgive her and to let her go. He handed the labour card back to MA and said that he will talk to her privately. He asked her to send him her mobile phone number, so she missed call him. Then he asked her to go down with him. I thought that they went down to the building’s lobby, but as she did not return after five minutes, I went down. I did not see them there, and the watchman told me that they left in his car,” she testified.

“I called her on her mobile and she asked me not to worry. The accused also talked to me and asked me not to worry. So I went upstairs. As she was late, I called her and received the same reply. She came home after an hour and she looked upset but did not reveal anything. At around 4am, she was crying very badly and told me that she was raped by the accused. So we went to the police station,” she testified.

The victim’s friend MA repeated the same testimony and together with FMM they recognised the accused shown in an identification parade.

The court adjourned the case until June 7.
