A Pakistani man and a woman who promised a 16-year-old girl with a maid's job and forced her into prostitution as she entered the country received five years sentence each on human trafficking charge.
MZS, 40, and MTM, 24, housewife, were also charged with running a brothel in Hor Al Anz area.
MTM was also found guilty of practicing prostitution.
MZS is accused of having consensual sexual relationship with MTM.
The two will be deported after serving their jail terms.
The victim, SAW, testified that when she was in her home country MZS came to her father and asked him to allow her to work in the UAE as a maid.
“My father refused as he sent me to UAE four times before and could not find me a maid's job. Instead, I worked from him and MTM and for two months each time and was paid Dh500. Since my family needed the moneybadly, I asked my father to allow me to come to Dubai, so he accepted. MZS paid all the expenses and he received me at the airport.
He took me to a flat in Hor Al Anz area where there were 6 other Pakistani girls as well. Then he took me to his flat. When the rest of the girls left the country, they forced me into prostitution after threatening and beating me up. When I told one of the customers my story, he asked me to call 999. One day, when I was alone, I called the police who arrived just after a few minutes,” she testified.
