Two strong Russian men used an electric device to knock down the female boss of a money transfer company in Dubai and robbed nearly $500,000 with the help of a Russian employee before they were arrested by Dubai police.

The manager was alone in her office in Nayef area in the morning on March 13 when the door was knocked. When she opened, two massive Russian men stormed inside after slapping her and knocking her down with an electric devise.

They then hurried to the safe and stole the money. When the woman came round, she phoned the police and gave them descriptions of the two.

After interrogating the company’s six staff members, police suspected one Russian employee for giving contradicting statements on his whereabouts during the robbery. After putting pressure on him, he confessed.

“He confessed that he helped the two by giving them information on the safe, when the money will arrive in the company, and the time when the manager will be alone and all employees will be out of office,” said Brigadier Khalil al Mansoori, head of Dubai’s criminal investigation department.

Quoted by Emirat Alyoum daily, Mansoori said the man confessed to having met the two at a café in Rafaa area to plan for the robbery.

“He said he did not know where they live but led police to the place where they met…after investigating some people there, they said the two used to come to the café before they disappeared,” he said.

“Nearly eight hours after the crime, our men managed to locate the two thieves at a hotel in that area…they then stormed their room and arrested them while they were sharing the stolen money.”
