'Sex or your life' knife attack on UAE expat woman

Sharjah Police have arrested ABH, an Indian national, on charges of attempted theft at knife-point.

The police are searching for his accomplice.

The police received information from SNN, an Indian woman, saying two men had entered their apartment in a residential tower in the Shuwaihiyeen area of the emirate and were demanding money from her at knife-point.

The woman shouted for help from residents of apartments close to her. She then rushed to the window of the apartment in an attempt to escape. One of the suspects grabbed the victim to prevent her from throwing herself down.

The suspects then tried to escape but one of them was caught by a resident of a neighbouring apartment.

The arrest man claimed that he had come to the apartment with his accomplice not for robbery but for sex.

Sharjah Police have urged the public not to leave open the doors and windows of their home to prevent strangers from entering.
