Two jobless men along with a juvenile accomplice allegedly assaulted a youth and his father in revenge, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

HJH, 31, Emirati and MYS, 19, who does not hold identification documents, and a juvenile attacked BMA, 14, and his father MAA, 46, Bahraini manager, causing BMA five percent permanent disability.

The public prosecution sought the stiffest penalty on the accused.

MAA, 46, testified that on February 26 he went with his son to buy bread in the Abu Hail area. “When we arrived at the bakery, my son told me that he wanted to buy juice from the adjacent grocery. A while after he entered the grocery, an Indian came out of the shop and told me that there is a brawl inside. I got down from the car and entered the grocery. I saw two people hitting my son with a tool. Suddenly two people hit me on my head and I fell unconscious and woke up in the hospital.”

His son BMA repeated the same testimony.

Hussain Aziz, 56, Iranian salesman, testified that as he was interacting with customers, BMA came in and he was attacked by three or four people inside the grocery.

“I got very scared as they were beating him badly and one of the shelves fell down. I ran away. I left the grocery and went home until police called and asked me to come.”

HJH confessed that he asked MYS to take revenge on BMA in his own way. “On the day of the incident MYS called me and told me that he took revenge with the help of others,” HJH said.

Forensic reported a 5 per cent permanent disability in BMA’s toes.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until March 27.
