A Nigerian worker allegedly broke into a grocery and stole mobile phone cards worth Dh8,000 and Salik cards of Dh5,000 value in addition to Dh6,000 in cash, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
Shopkeeper HK, 38, Indian, was shocked when he saw the glass door of the grocery broken.
“The shop was in a mess and checking it, I found out that Dh6,000 in cash and mobile and Salik cards were missing,” HK told investigators.
Reviewing CCTV cameras, police noticed that two men had entered the shop and burgled it. HK recognised IO, one of the grocery’s clients.
The court will give its verdict on April 30.
