Student stabs friend for abusing his mother

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an 18-year-old student to three months in jail for stabbing a friend who had abused his mother.

YKK was charged with attempted a murder as he had pulled a knife and stabbed AHB, Lebanese, outside a gym.

A fight broke between YKK, Iraqi, and AHB, Lebanese, student, during which the later cursed the mother of the accused. After scuffles in the hall, the accused went outside.

One of the witnesses came to the victim and told him that YKK is willing to sort out the problem and asked him to go out. AHB went out and saw the accused standing in a parking lot. AHB then walked towards YKK who pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed him three times after asking him why he had cursed his mother.

The accused raged in anger as the victim told him that he had abused his mother in revenge for cursing his mother the day before.

The accused stabbed AHB in the belly, chest and arm before he ran away when two of their friends Sameer and Mohammed came out of the hall and saw the victim lying on the ground in a pool of blood.  Sameer called for an ambulance to rush the victim to the hospital.

Second Lieutenant Ahmad Eid testified that the accused confessed to buying the knife about half an hour before committing the crime and threw it in a garbage bin after committing the crime.

“The knife was not found two days after the crime,” he testified.

The accused told the court that he did not mean to kill the victim. “I pulled the knife to scare him when he threatened to stick a knife into my back,” he told the court.
