UAE Central Bank shuts three African accounts

The UAE Central Bank has ordered the closure of bank accounts held by three Africans at the request of Dubai Police, press reports said on Tuesday.

The decision was included in a circular sent by the Central Bank to all banks, money exchange shops and investment firms operating in the second largest Arab economy, the Sharjah-based Alkhaleej daily said.

It said those institutions were also told to supply the anti-money laundering unit at the Central Bank with all financial activities of those accounts.
