A 34-year-old Bangladeshi visitor, RAS, who used the genuine passport of another person in an attempt to leave the country, was sentenced to six months in jail followed by deportation by the Dubai Criminal Court.
On September 9, a Dubai Naturalisation and Residencey Department (DNRD) officer discovered that the picture on the passport was not of the person standing in front of him. The man was trying to leave the UAE.
Criminal Evidences reported that all pages of the passport, including stamps, were genuine. However, they reported that the picture on the passport was not of the document’s real holder.
RAS confessed that he had bought the passport to use it for leaving the country.
