Woman jumps red light and kills boy in Abu Dhabi

A woman driving her car at high speed jumped the red lights and killed a 16-year-old Asian boy just as he was crossing the road in Abu Dhabi.

The accident took place on the busy Murur road in the capital on Wednesday and preliminary police investigation found the woman made a fatal mistake and jumped the red lights at a high speed.

“The boy died on the spot after he was run over when he was in the pedestrian crossing…the woman suffered from light injuries,” Major Abdullah Al Suwaidi, director of the accidents division at Abu Dhabi traffic police, said without identifying the driver.

Come to the Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Shoreline Apartments area then you going to see real picture of drivers recklessness in Dubai. There is pedestrians crossings and every 5th car jumps red light. Sad but nobody takes attention about that.

I noticed that cars slow down t a junction where there is pedestrian crossing. But they accelerate instead even when there is a 'give way' sign. It is the pedestrian that has the right to go first NOT the car. Something has to be done to educate drivers before more are killed on the road.

they should fry her on the electric chair to teach her and all other such 'special' drivers a lesson. I am sure her car must have been blind-tinted even in the front windshield, like most cars.
