Maid attacks crippled girl with axe

An Ethiopian housemaid waited for her employers to go out and attacked their crippled daughter with an axe, causing injuries all over her body.

Doctors raced against time to save the girl’s life after she was brought into hospital with axe wounds on the face, neck, limbs and abdomen.

The girl, who has been bed ridden for seven years following a neck fracture, was sleeping at home in the Southern town of Bisha when the maid attacked her.

Doctors said the girl was in a stable condition while police, quoted by Ajel newspaper, said they were interrogating the maid about her motives. The paper did not mention the girl’s age.
