5-year-old murdered for Dh122 earring

In a gruesome murder an Egyptian child was killed for a gold earring worth just (Egyptian) £200 (Dh122) and her remains hidden in a washing machine.

According to 'Sabea'a' daily, one of the neighbours has confessed to the crime.

Nadia Jamil Al-Sayed Bayoumi, a 21-year-old housewife was in desperate need of £200, when she hit upon the idea of stealing Mayada's gold earring. She confessed to picking up the child who was playing in front of her house.

The incident only came of light when the parents of the kid reported her missing. Police discovered the body that was wrapped in a blanket inside a washing machine.

Public Prosecution has taken over the case. 

Teenager kidnapped, raped and filmed naked

An Egyptian teenager was kidnapped and raped twice in a span of just one week and filmed in indecent postures because the suspects feared they would be exposed.

According to 'Al Youm Al Sabea’a' daily, the 16-year-old was dragged into a car when she was returning from school in Al Basateen area in central Cairo. As she resisted the attempts of a woman and two men to pull her inside the vehicle, the student felt something being sprayed on her face.

Later after hours when she regained her senses, she was lying naked in the presence of two men. The duo rang up her family and demanded (Egyptian)£10,000 to have her released. Her family immediately paid the amount and took her home.

A few days later, in the wee hours of the night the suspects raided her family home and kidnapped her again in the presence of her mother and brother. They took her to the same apartment and this time filmed her in indecent postures as she lay unconscious and threatened her family that they would publicise the pictures if they filed a police complaint.

Meanwhile, one of the suspects' friends helped her escape. He also led the police to the two men who confessed to the crime. 

Indian tailor to be lashed 160 times for harassment

An Indian tailor in Jeddah will receive 160 lashes and serve seven months in jail for molesting an Arab woman who approached him for having some dresses stitched.

According to 'Ukaz' newspaper, the Saudi Shariah Court ordered the suspect to be lashed 40 times per week.

The victim alleged that he sexually harassed her by "holding her hand" and asking her accompany him to his home. "He promised me SR1,000," she added.

Meanwhile, the suspect claimed that the woman was angry with him because there was a delay in having her dresses ready. He, however, confessed that he held her hand.

Foreman sentenced to death for killing worker

An Appeals Court in Fujairah sentenced an Asian foreman at a construction project to death for murdering a worker following a dispute.

Police had suspected criminal act while investigating an incident involving the worker’s fall to death from a building under construction in the eastern emirate.

After interrogation, the foreman confessed to pushing the Asian worker with intent to kill him following an argument.
