Crime file: Boy kills sister over cartoon

A teenager was killed by her older brother at their home in Mohammedia - one of the suburbs near the Moroccan capital Casa Blanca - because she requested to watch her favourite cartoon on TV.

On returning from school, 13-year-old Omaima, aked her 19-year-old brother who was watching TV to change the channel. Angered by the request, he hit her head with a weapon and slughtered her.  

The childrens mother and other siblings had not returned home from work when the incident happened.

It is alleged the boy is a drug addict and was not a regular at home.

Man uses two guns to kill two sons

A 40-year-old Saudi man opened fire from two guns on his family, killing two little sons and seriously wounding two other sons, his ex-wife and her brother.

Police said two boys aged two and three years died of their wounds at hospital in the northwestern town of Jouf while their two elder brothers were seriously injured. Their mother and her brother also suffered serious wounds.

“Police rushed to the area and arrested the father who was still in an agitated state…investigations are under way to know his motives,” Sabq daily said, adding that the incident took place on Monday morning.

A Saudi man believed to be mentally ill was arrested for stalking passers by and shooting at them with a hunting gun, injuring three people in a few days.

The unnamed man had hidden behind a wall and waited for people to pass through the area in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah.

“He wounded one Filipino and one Asian man….his latest victim was a 20-year-old female student who is still in hospital after she was shot…police kept stalking the man for a few days until they got him,” ‘Alikhbariya’ daily said.
